Tough this year, poor year for RB, a lot of similarly talented WR, very few blue chip players. Needs not matching up with availability. Teams need to trade into or out of areas of need..Also some very misleading information out there right now, ADP is doing no one any favours
Right here we go Cleveland on the clock with the first two picks
1.1 - Cleveland Browns - Josh Jacobs - RB - Alabama/Oakland - I think with this and the next pick Cleveland goes RB twice. Jacobs, despite my misgivings, is the consensus 1.1 in most drafts
1.2 - Cleveland Browns - Mike Sanders - RB - Penn State/Philly - I've actually seen him go 1.1 and he seems to be the usual second back off the board..Again, I don't get the hype but these two picks would, potentially, fix the Browns RB depth issues
1.3 - Arizona Cardinals - N'Keal Harry - WR - ASU/New England - Arizona needs a stud WR badly, they'll have their own opinion of whom the best WR in the draft is but for me Harry is bomb proof. The one issue is does he fit in NE where the receiver playbook is notoriously difficult
1.4 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - David Montgomery - RB - Iowa State/Chicago - This will be the Bears RB or the player I put at 1.2. But it should be a RB that TBB hopes will become a mainstay. WR depth is needed but there's always 1.18
1.5 - Cincinnati Bengals - DK Metcalf - WR - Ole Miss/Seattle - Bengals need a WR to start alongside Marvin Jones, there's a couple of ways to go but Metcalf is rising and the ceiling is high even if the floor is low.
1.6 - New York Jets - Parris Cambell - WR -Ohio State/Indianapolis - NY has a lot of picks in this draft and a lot of holes ...except at QB where Mahomes resides. This will be BPA and that could mean one of three or four players ..Campbell is very very good, and he gets to play on an ascending team and wit Andrew Luck. I don't think there's value at RB here
1.7 - Chicago Bears - Kyler Murray - QB - Texas A&N/Arizona - TBH Chicago has to walk away with a QB here and it gets nasty after Murray, I think Chicago may need to move up to guarantee this but for the purposes of this mock Murray falls nicely to 7
1.8 - New York Giants - Deebo Samuel - WR - South Carolina/San Francisco - This is a tough pick to make for NY (they do have 4 firsts), We're a possible tier down on WR, Doesn't need a QB and there's very little value at RB unless your prepared to wait a year or for injury. The good RB in this draft did not land well at first glance. BPA whomever NY thinks that is. one of 4 WR maybe a TE...too early for an End?
1.9 - Oakland Raiders - TJ Hockenson - TE - Iowa/Detroit - Oakland could you some receiver depth and Hockenson is the higher ADP guy and always seems to go top 10, touch high for me personally but he'd give Oakland a second option at TE
1.10 - Philadelphia Eagles - Noah Fant - TE - Iowa/Denver - Followed by Fant. Great year to grab a stud TE and Eagles currently only have FA Michael Roberts on roster
1.11 - Miami Dolphins - Devin Bush - LB - Michigan/Pittsburgh - With a serviceable offence and value for a second turning towards D, Miami get the backer of their choice
1.12 - New York Giants - Nick Bosa - DE - Ohio State/San Francisco - Could use a RB here but whomever he took he'd probably have to wait a while on. So he grabs the top D lineman on the board to pair with his only other DE on roster ..last seasons very well drafted Marcus Davenport
1.13 - Chicago Bears - Darrell Henderson - RB - Memphis/LA Rams - Having grabbed his QB (in this draft) Chicago need help at RB and gambles on Henederson's superior talent.
1.14 Buffalo Bills - Devin White - LB - LSU/Tampa Bay - Bills could use an RB but very risky here, so they grab a stud LB to pair with Leonard. May also be one of the next tier of WR too
1.15 - Carolina Panthers - Dwayne Haskins - QB - Ohio State/Washington - No QB on roster here so this will be Haskins or the other highly drafted QB..One should fall
1.16 - New England Patriots - Damien Harris - RB - Alabama/New England - This wouldn't surprise me, The NE GM loves his NE players, Harris adds to his depth chart at a shallow position and could step in if Michel's knees continue to be an issue
1.17 - San Francisco 49ers - Andy Isabella - WR - Massachusets/Arizona - I need pass catchers of both types and if the stud TE don't fall it'll have to be the best available WR.
1.18 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - AJ Brown - Ole Miss/Tennessee - Fairly sure this will be a WR here and BPA for the GM. So could be one of three or four but I'll say it's be AJ Brown if he's still there
1.19 - New England Patriots - Montez Sweat - DE - Mississippi State/Washington - Lousy DL in New England so while Montez has the DE designation he's great value here.
1.20 Seattle Seahawks - Daniel Jones - QB - Duke/New York Giants - One pick in the draft ain't going to help with the depth issues of this roster may as well grab the back up to Eli who is Seattle's QB. Get one issue solved, at least for now.
1.21 - Buffalo Bills - Devin Singletary - RB - Florida Atlantic/Buffalo - Bills back up Frank Gore while getting a shifty knows where the end zone id touchdown scorer. He'll have a role this season and probably a much bigger once next
1.22 - Baltimore Ravens - Justice Hill - Oklahoma State/Baltimore - I think Baltimore needs an RB here, all there is on roster is Kenneth Dixon. I think Hill will get a role, he's better than Edwards, and Baltimore seemed tired of waiting for Dixon.
1.23 - Dallas Cowboys - Mecole Hardman - Georgia/Kansas City - A bit of a steal for the guy expected to replace Tyreek, he's not as good as Tyreek but will make a good living with Mahomes at QB.
1.24 - Oakland Raiders - Marquis Brown - WR - Oklahoma/Baltimore - Marquis doesn't do as well in rookie drafts as he did in real life, undersized but fast receiver gets Lamar Jackson as his QB and a fair bit of competition from his fellow rookie and others. Fallen far enough though
1.25 - New York Giants - Alexander Mattison - RB - Boise State/Minnsota - Very solid RB who could see Lataviusesque returns if Cooks goes down. would give NYG some shot at points from the RB position this season
1.26 - New York Jets - JJ Arcega Whiteside - - WR - Standford/Philadelphia - BPA for the Jets again, maybe should be RB but their current WR depth chart is litterd with the suspended and failing..
1.27 - New York Giants - Ryquell Armstead - RB - Temple/Jacksonville - Jax have been trying to get value for Fournette for about 6 months now, there's clearly an issue and Ryquell is good enough to shoulder the load if called upon.
1.28 - New York Jets - Jonathon Abram - S - Mississippi State/Oakland - Jets could use a saftey upgrade and this one is the best in the draft landing where he gets to put in the tackles from day 1
1.29 - San Francisco - Diontae Johnson - WR - Toledo/Pittsburgh - I'll take whichever WR falls here, and one or two will
1.30 - Philadelphia Eagles - Miles Boykin - WR - Notre Dame/Baltimore - And the receivers keep on coming, it's just BPA here for me. Really showing in camp though and looks about the best fit for Lamar he could get, throw catch run
1.31 - Kansas City - Hakeem Butler - WR - Iowa State/Arizona - KCC only has one pick in this draft right now and they ain't building anything through this draft. So grab a really good footballer irrespective of need (in this case RB and QB.) If Armstead or Mattison reach down here I suspect that woukd be the pick but Butler is top class blue chip for the NFL, just landed on a team with 4/5 other really good WR ..Air Raid may mean goodness for all at some point in the season so far and he's a Fitz replacement when he retires.
1.32 - Chicago Bears - Irv Smith - TE - Alabama/Minnesota - Probably the best blocking TE in the draft, maybe the second best Move guy. I like the 5 years on really TE too
Right here we go Cleveland on the clock with the first two picks
1.1 - Cleveland Browns - Josh Jacobs - RB - Alabama/Oakland - I think with this and the next pick Cleveland goes RB twice. Jacobs, despite my misgivings, is the consensus 1.1 in most drafts
