Overview:
Welcome to 1st and 10 Dynasty. We are a 32 team contract/salary cap league which attempts to create a fantasy experience as close to the real NFL as possible. Every NFL Franchise has a General Manager (GM) who is responsible for all aspects of team management.
League Managers and TAB: We will have 3 LMs, and 5 others who will be on TAB(Trade Approval Board). League Managers are Jeremy (Vikings GM), Mikey (Steelers GM), Laura (Colts GM) and Anthony (Bengals GM). The TAB members are: John (Broncos GM), Frank (Ravens GM), David Jets GM, Smitty (Rams GM), and Pat (Dolphins GM). If a there is disagreement on something, LMs will have final say. If a LM makes a decision you don't like, please don't bitch and moan about it, speak to that LM or me, Vikings GM.
Roster Limits:
Active rosters are limited to 45 players maximum and 25 players minimum (not including Injured Reserve). The limits are suspended each off-season to allow teams to draft, trade, and make roster moves in preparation for the upcoming season. All teams must be back within the roster limits by the league cut-down day which will be posted each pre-season. Our cut down date will always be after the final pre-season game and the NFL's final cut-down date.
Any team over the limit after the roster deadline will have players waived. Every effort will be made to keep the best interests of the franchise in mind. Any team under the minimum will have placeholder "players" added at a salary of $500,000 for the current year. This placeholder will count towards the salary cap for the rest of the year unless waived at the standard 25% cap hit (assuming the team remains above the roster minimum).
After the roster deadline has passed, any team that acquires a player or players causing the team to go over the maximum will have the player(s) immediately dropped. A 30% cap hit will apply to bring the team back to the roster limit. The TAB will attempt to catch this beforehand, but it is the responsibility of each GM to remain within the roster limits.
Roster Checks:
Each owner is responsible for their own team. Rosters must be kept up to date, the responsibility does not fall to League Managers to keep other franchises up to date. PLEASE check into proboards once every 48 Hours esp in offseason when Free Agency and the draft is going on..
Random roster checks can be performed by League Managers at anytime throughout the calendar year. When team transactions occur (Draft, RFA, FA, Trades, Waivers, etc.) GM's will have 7 days to update their rosters during the off-season, and 3 days during the season. Any team that is found not to have their rosters updated at anytime (other than within the specified time period above) will be faced with a penalty.
Penalties for NOT having rosters (both here and Fantrax) up-to-date are as follows:
1st Offense - Warning - GM's will be given 48 hours to update and correct their roster(s). However, in cases where a player signed to a contract or claimed has failed to be added to both rosters in the allotted time period (Listed above), penalties will be immediately assessed according to the 2nd Offense below.
2nd Offense - Loss of player, $1,000,000 penalty, and ineligibility to bid on player lost - GM's will lose the player to free agency (If recently signed from Free agency, Draft, or RFA, but not added to both of the GM's rosters), or to Waivers if previously claimed. If the $1,000,000 penalty causes the team to go over cap the GM will have a choice of which player(s) to drop (standard 25% waiver penalty) to bring the team back within cap limits.
Salary Cap:
Each team has a $100,000,000 salary cap. Team salary includes the total of all players under contract (Active Roster and Injured Reserve), plus any Salary Cap Hits for unclaimed waivers, plus any outstanding (leading) free agent bids. Each team MUST maintain accurate salary totals and roster count on their team page. The salary cap will remain in effect year-round. This includes pre-season, so be careful while you may be temporarily over the roster limits, you may never exceed the salary cap.
If any team acquires a player or players causing them to go over the salary cap in any year (via draft, trade, waiver claim, or Free Agency) and it is not caught beforehand, then the added player(s) will be immediately released with a 25% cap hit to bring the team back under the salary cap. If the player was acquired through a trade or draft pick, then the team may alternatively release the most recently added UFA(s) with a 25% cap hit to bring them back under the salary cap.
*ANY team that goes over the cap, the last FA’s won in FA will be waived with normal cap hit until that team is under the cap.
2nd offense is a 1 million dollar cap hit assessed to that team
3rd offense is a 2mil dollar cap hit
anything after that could lead to removal of the league
Free Agency:
As in the NFL, there are two types of Free Agents - Restricted Free Agents (RFA) and Unrestricted Free Agents (UFA). RFAs are players whose rights are still held by a team and may be re-signed after their original contract expires (according to the rules in the RFA section below). UFAs are any players that are not currently under contract by a team. Each pre-season any player who does not have RFA status becomes a UFA once his contract expires. The one exception is that each team may designate one Franchise player each season.
Unrestricted Free Agency begins each pre-season in June and ends each season at the end of the regular season.. UFA will immediately start back up for playoff teams only, teams can only offer players 1 year deals only. (any bids already in progress at that time will be allowed to be completed and signed by the winner).
Franchise Players:
Teams may franchise one player with an expiring contract each season. If that player is traded, the team trading the player may not Franchise another player that year. The team receiving the player may still Franchise one player and maintain both Franchised players for that year.
A player may receive the franchise tag a maximum of 2 seasons in a row. If a player is tagged 2 years in a row by the same team...he must be paid 130% of the current year's franchise tag.
Franchise Tag will be added this up coming season.. Franchise Tag for 1 player per team per year.. Each position is calculated by the average of the top 10 players for each position from 2017 season. IF you decide to FT a player this is what it will cost for 2018 season.
QB: $24.22M
RB: $10.16M
WR: $15M
TE: $9.34M
K: $4.88M
DL: $9.68M
LB: $9.74M
DB: $10.02M
Contract Extensions:
Every GM can offer an EXTENSION CONTRACT to ONE player each season who has at least ONE YEAR left on their contract. The extension contract may add up to 3 YEARS on a player’s current contract and will cost 150% PER YEAR of the players HIGHEST PAID YEAR on their REMAINING contract. A player may not ever exceed a 6 YEAR CONTRACT. At no point in time can a player on a RFA be eligible for a contract extension.. UFA contract's ONLY.. Due to starting League late this season, we will be allowed 1 contract extension for the 2017 season & then one for 2018 season. This contract Extension will only be allowed for a maximum of three years
Contract option A: 150% or 5M for these positions (QB,RB,WR,TE,LB) --- (10M for 2nd extension)
Contract option B: 150% or 4M for these positions (DE,K,S) --- (8M for 2nd extension)
Contract option C: 150% or 3M for these positions (DT,CB) ---(6M for second extension)
**Example: QB A: makes 1M, extending contract will cost 5M per year due to 150% not exceeding $5M per..
**Example 2: QB B: makes 10M extending contract @ 150% his new contract would be 10/15/15/15/UFA
*Please note when updating 2018 roster under your team to specify which player you are Re-signing from 2017 season and 2018 season..
Contract Restructures
One contract restructure per year of a max of 2M per contract for contracts 8M and over in any given year and 1M for contracts 4M and over in any given year, plus a 50% cap hit for any restructured contract. You can move this money any way you want, you can back load to clear up cap space for current year, or you can front load to clear up space for future years.
For example:
Original Contract:Darrelle Revis (CB-TB) 16/16/16/16/16/UFA
After Restructure:Darrelle Revis 14/16/16/16/18/UFA
The Bills cleared 2M in cap space by reorganizing 2M from the current year and placing it on the last year of the contract.
But remember, if you use a contract restructure, you will now be on the hook for 50% of the contract instead of the standard 30%.
You can use one contract restructure per contract. Once a contract restructure has been used on a player, that player's contract cannot be restructured again until a brand new contract has been negotiated for that player. In other words, either the contract needs to expire first and then resigned, or a players contract has to be waived or bought-out first and then resigned.
You CANNOT Restructure a contract & then Extend a contract after it is Restructured.. You CAN Extend a contract first & then Restructure that contract.. NO OTHER OPTION COMBO’S can be used..
Minimum Salaries:
Players must be signed for at least the following salaries. Years in the league are determined by nfl.com at www.nfl.com/players.
Years in the league (not including current year) - Minimum
0 - $230,000
1 - $305,000
2 - $380,000
3 - $455,000
4-6 - $540,000
7-9 - $665,000
10+ - $765,000
For example, if nfl.com shows a player's experience as "rookie" or "1st season", he will qualify for the minimum salary of $230,000. If nfl.com shows "2nd season", his minimum salary will be $305,000, etc. Sometimes nfl.com will make a mistake, for example they might show "2nd season" when a player clearly has career stats for 2 previous seasons. In this case the player will be assumed to have already played 2 years. The League Managers will rule on any exceptions.
Free Agent Bidding:
The process for signing an Unrestricted Free Agent is to create a new thread in the "Unrestricted Free Agents" sub-board under "Free Agency". The thread should have the player's correctly spelled name, NFL team and position in the subject, and a valid bid as the message. Other GMs may reply in this thread with higher bids for the player. The bidding will end when 24 hours has passed since the last valid bid.
Contract years add value based on the following: $1M = 1 point
1 Yr = 1X multiplier - 1 Yr @ 5 mil = 5 X 1 = 5 pts
2 Yr = 1.20X multiplier - 2 Yrs @ 5 mil = 5 X 1.20 = 6 pts
3 Yr = 1.40X mulitplier - 3 Yrs @ 5 mil = 5 X 1.40 = 7 pts
4 Yr = 1.60X multiplier - 4 Yrs @ 5 mil = 5 X 1.6= 8 pts
More Examples:
1 yr @ 1 mil = 1 x 1 = 1 pt
3 yrs @ 1 mil = 1 X 1.4= 1.4 pts
1 yr @ 1.4 mil = 1.4 X 1 = 1.4 pts
3 yrs @ 1.3 mil = 1.3 X 1.4 = 2.2pts
1 yr @ 1.8 mil = 1.8 X 1 = 1.8 pts
Players may be signed for a maximum of 4 years and your math must be correct for the bid to be valid. bids must be at least 0.1 points higher than the previous bid
During the season, you must also have roster space available for the bid to be valid (remember, roster limits are lifted during the pre-season). This means you must have less than 48 active players. Players on waivers do not count towards your roster limit. You may conditionally waive a player to make roster space (but not salary cap) for a player as detailed in the "Conditional Waivers" section below.
If a team makes a free agent bid which would put them over the roster or cap limit, a $1 Million Cap Penalty will be assessed...
Restricted Free Agents:
Restricted Free Agents (RFAs) are free agents who have 3 years or less NFL experience (players are signed with RFA status if their last year under contract is their 3rd year or less). Years within the league will be determined by nfl.com at www.nfl.com/players.
During each pre-season, teams may tender offers to their RFAs with expiring contracts or let them become UFAs. Players that have been tendered offers will be available to other teams during the Restricted Free Agency bidding period. The team that owns the RFA player has the right to match the winning offer and retain the rights to the player. If the offer is not matched, the new team will acquire the player and must provide the original team with draft pick(s) from the current's year's draft as compensation. RFAs with expired contracts may not be traded during the pre-season until they have been signed to new contracts.
RFA players not bid on are automatically re-signed at the tender price with the number of years set by the owning GM (1-4). Players not re-signed by the GM during the re-signing period will be re-signed by the TAB
A thread must be created for each player with one of the following tender amounts and compensation....
$500,000 tender - 4th round draft pick
$750,000 tender - 3rd round draft pick
$1,500,000 tender - 2nd round draft pick
$2,500,000 tender - 1st round draft pick
$3,250,000 tender - 1st and 3rd round draft picks
$4,000,000 tender - 1st and 2nd round draft picks
Restricted Free Agent Bidding:
The RFA bidding process uses the same bidding rules, point system and minimum raise as the UFA bidding process. The only difference is the bid must also include the specific pick(s) that are being offered as compensation (the pick may be a higher round pick than the tender level).
The RFA bidding period will last for 3 weeks. Once an initial bid is made for a player, other teams have 24 hours to raise the bid. Once the bid has been won, the tendering GM has 48 hours from the time the bid was won to decide whether to sign the player to the exact winning bid contract terms, or receive the compensation draft pick(s). If no decision is posted, the winning bidder signs the player for the compensation offered. You may not bid on your own player in an attempt to set your contract terms.
Note: The winning bid is the only bid that the tendering GM must deal with. Be sure to make a high enough bid to actually force the owner to give him up. You may not re-up the bid later.
Owners must have the picks available to offer as comp
Contract Buyout Rule:
If you choose to buyout a players contract, we take the average salary per year remaining on his contract, and apply a 75% buyout rate for the current year, but you will no longer be responsible for future money for that player. There will be only one contract buyout per season (per team). You may only use your Contract Buyout in the off-season just like the Franchise Tag and Contract Extension. You may not bid on the player you Buyout during that season.
Example:
John Doe (QB-DAL) $25,280,000 (2016) $15,100,000 (2017) $19,000,000 (2018)
The average salary is $19,793,333 per year.
So a 75% buyout would mean a $14,845,000 cap hit for the current year, but then you would be off the hook for future seasons.
Waivers:
To release a player, you must post a thread in the waiver forum containing his contract terms. Fellow GM's will have 24 hours to claim the waived player. If he is claimed, no salary cap hit will apply. If he is not claimed you'll have to release him at a 25% cap hit for the remainder of the contract. That means if you have him signed for 3 years, the salary cap hit will apply for each of the 3 years.
Waiver Claims:
Waiver claims must be posted on the waived player's thread within 14 hours. After 24 hours, the team with the highest "Waiver Priority" will be awarded the player and will assume the existing contract. It doesn't matter what order claims are posted. The team being awarded the player will then move to the bottom of the Waiver Priority. Waiver Priorities are reset after each season to the reverse order of finish. The priority starts the same as our draft order (set after each season's Super Bowl). You have exactly 10 minutes to remove a claim on a player.
Conditional Waivers:
If you are at the roster limit, you may conditionally waive a player in order to place a bid on a free agent (or to claim a player on waivers or to make a trade) which would have put you over the roster limit. State that the player is conditionally waived pending winning free agent "X" (or being awarded a waiver claim or having a trade approved). Teams may claim this player like any other waived player, but you would retain the conditionally waived player if you do not acquire your targeted player.
Unclaimed Waivers:
If a player is waived and not claimed within 48 hours there will be a 25% cap hit for every year of the contract. That player becomes a free agent, and the same rules apply to that player as they do to all free agents. The only difference is that the owner who released that player CANNOT bid for the rest of the season. If the player is later released by his new owner, then the original owner can bid.
"Gaines Adams Rule":
In the event of the death of a player currently under contract, the player may be released without a cap hit, and may he rest in peace.
Trades:
Each agreed upon trade must be posted in the "Trades" forum. Both parties of the trade must post acceptance of the trade within a reasonable time (the poster of the trade is assumed to have accepted). Draft picks may be traded up to two years in the future. RFAs with expiring contracts may not be traded until they have been signed to new contracts.
Trades must include the name, position and contract terms of each player involved, the specific draft picks, and any other conditions. If a condition references statistics for a "season", it is assumed to be the entire 16 game NFL regular season (through week 17).
You must have salary cap available and space on your roster in order to trade for players. Players on waivers do not count towards your roster limit. You may conditionally waive a player or players to make room for your traded for players as detailed in the "Conditional Waivers" section.
Every trade must be approved by the league commissioners and TAB (Trade Approval Board). It takes 3 votes to approve a trade. If there are 3 votes to veto or deny a trade before 3 votes to approve, the trade is vetoed. If either team does not have salary cap or roster space available to complete the trade, it will automatically be void. TAB members cannot vote on their own trades.
The trading deadline is the Wednesday after NFL week 10 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Trades accepted before the deadline will be allowed time for TAB approval. Trading resumes for the following season on Jan 1st.
NFL Rookie Draft:
We conduct a 4 round Rookie Draft every pre-season. This draft is for NFL Rookies that were eligible for the most recent NFL draft (including undrafted players, and NFL Supplemental Draft Players). Players that were eligible for a previous year's NFL draft and went undrafted (but are still technically NFL Rookies), are considered free agents and are no longer eligible to be drafted.
Draft order for non-playoff teams will be in the reverse order of the final regular season fantasy football standings. Playoff teams will draft in the reverse order of their playoff results (teams eliminated the same week will follow the same tiebreaker rules based on their regular season finish). Our Super Bowl winner picks last.
Draft Order Tiebreaker Rules (Reverse Order)...
1. Overall Record
2. Head-to-Head Record (2 teams only)
3. Least amount of Overall Points scored
4. More amount of Points Against
Teams will be OTC (On The Clock) starting from the exact time the previous selection was made or skipped. Draft clock is 4 hours per pick with clock stopping over night from midnight until 6AM EST -You must have salary cap room available to sign your draft pick(s) or they will be forfeited and become Free Agents.
NFL rookies not drafted during our rookie draft become Free Agents 24 hours after the conclusion of our draft.
Skipped Draft Picks:
If a team misses their pick, they will be skipped and the next team will be "on the clock". Skipped teams may pick anytime and will not affect the current clock.
Trading of Draft Picks:
Draft picks may be traded up to two years in the future. For example, in 2019 you will be able to trade 2020 & 2021 draft picks throughout the 2019 playing year up until the trade deadline
Draft Pick Salaries (pick position on the draft board regardless of any skipped picks):

1st round draft picks are all signed for 4 Years with an optional 5th year "Team Option" available at a 25% salary increase (no RFA status). All other draft picks are signed for 3 Years and have RFA status at the end of their contracts.
Injured Reserve:
If a player is placed on Injured reserve (IR) in the NFL, he may be placed on IR in this league and not count towards the 48 player active roster limit. There is no limit to the number of IR players a team can have, but they all still count towards the salary cap.
Injured Reserve may also include players on NFL PUP (Physically Unable to Perform). If those players are reactivated after the 6th week, they must be removed from IR and will become subject to normal roster limits. Players on Injured Reserve must be moved back to the active roster each off-season.
We will use Fantrax for scoring.
Starting Lineups:
Player's positions are determined by Fantrax or . Sometimes players change positions... if you feel Fantrax has made a mistake, please let a League Manager know. The starting lineups will be:
Offense
1 Quarterback
2 Running Backs
3 Wide Receivers
1 Tight End

Points Scoring:
Game day scoring includes stats for each player on each team's starting roster. The team with the higher amount of total points wins. Fantrax does not score illegal rosters so they will not be allowed. If a team has an illegal roster, the TAB will make it legal. Unowned teams will have their lineups set by the TAB.

We use the same system of seeding and scheduling as the NFL. Each conference will have 4 division winners seeded 1 though 4, and 2 wild card teams seeded 5 and 6. The top two seeds from each conference will get a first round bye. In Round 1 each conference #3 seed hosts the #6 seed, and the #4 seed hosts the #5 seed. In Round 2 each conferences #1 seed hosts the lowest remaining seed after round 1, #2 seed hosts the higher remaining seed. Playoffs start week 13 with the 2 Conference Champions meeting in the Super Bowl on Week 16.

Off-Season Activities:
Each off-season GMs must perform the following activities in preparation for the upcoming season. If these are not done by Mar. 1st, the GM may be replaced. This gives GMs Two month to...
Select one Franchise Player (optional) from your expiring contracts and post him in the Free Agency Sub-board "Franchise Players". Put his new contract amount and the word "Franchise or FT" after his name on your roster. If this is his 2nd or 3rd Franchise, please note that.
Post your remaining expiring contracts in the Free Agency Sub-board "Unrestricted Free Agents". These players must be removed from your roster here and on Fantrax. Post your Restricted Free Agents and tender offer in the Free Agency Sub-board "Restricted Free Agents" (one thread per player).
If you do not want to tender an offer to an RFA, post him in the "Unrestricted Free Agents" thread and remove him from your roster here and on Fantrax. Move any injured players off Injured Reserve and back on to your active rosters here and on Fantrax. Remember, roster limits are suspended until the end of pre-season, so you are not limited to 48 players until then.
Update your team's "Salary Cap Hits" with your team's "Salary Cap Hits" (under the Waivers board). Cap hits that no longer apply will have been removed.
Update your Roster totals and Salary amounts.
Select one player to give your Extension to (optional) and post him in the thread titled Contract Extensions.
Select one player to buyout their contract (optional) and post him in the thread titled Contract Buyouts.

1 Tight End
1 UT (WR/RB)
1 UT (WR/TE)
Defense
1 DT
2 DE
3 LB
1 CB
1 S

Points Scoring:
Game day scoring includes stats for each player on each team's starting roster. The team with the higher amount of total points wins. Fantrax does not score illegal rosters so they will not be allowed. If a team has an illegal roster, the TAB will make it legal. Unowned teams will have their lineups set by the TAB.

Playoffs:
Division Winners Tiebreakers
1. Overall Record
2. Head-to-Head Record (2 teams only - unless a team has beat or lost to all other teams involved in the tiebreaker)
3. Division Record
4. Overall Points
5. Points Against
Wild Card Tiebreakers
1. Overall Record
2. Head-to-Head Record (2 teams only - unless a team has beat or lost to all other teams involved in the tiebreaker)
3. Overall Points
4. Points Against
Note: Head to head record may only be used In a multi-way tie-breaker to remove a team from the tie-breaker if that team beat or lost to ALL other teams involved. In that case the team either wins or loses the tie-breaker and the remaining teams are then compared (if needed).
