Im in the camp that believes there is a big difference between DT and DE, and I also believe there's a big difference between CB and S. Those positions often times call for different skill sets by players and apply differently to the NFL game. Just would like to throw out the idea to maybe separate them and give each position its own respective place on the field in this league.

I agree with this. I think it really adds more value to the league and to each team. It also adds more value to each position. I like them separated as well.

yeah so do .i It was originally going to all be split up, but with so much for us to do with so little time to do it we decided that we would look at splitting up the D positions next offseason and keep it simple this year

i would vote for that. Maybe put up a poll for rule changes and get it voted on during this offseason, so we can transition during 2018 offseason

I think we should do that right now, the fact we're short of time makes no difference in this case imo. Lets start this league with the basic settings correct and that includes separating the defensive positions and adding some form of contract renewal. Don't forget this league started with separate D positions and was altered without vote already to just DB and DL ..

I agree with the 49ers too. I don't see why we are trying to rush a draft either? Would be better to just make sure we have 30 good owners and then allow trading and free agency in the short time we have before the season.
We can draft next year.

You mean stick with the rookies that got drafted? ...Would mean I get worse to be fair, Solomon Thomas is a 4-3 tackle and they don't score well. Foster I'd have to trade straight away before he loses value, Witherspoon is a corner and they're ten a penny, CJ Bethard I doubt makes it in the pro's. Joe Williams is just a horrible pick in a draft littered with good to really good RB. Kittle - meh ten better TE in the draft, Taylor is a nice slot but drafted in the 5th, then some pointless roster fillers rest of the way...SF had a shockingly bad draft

DBs make sense to break up, but DL is hard with differences between 3-4 and 4-3. 3-4 technically has DE-NT-DT, which doesn't fit easily into the DE/DT mold that is proposed.
